Meeting of the Task Force on Hemispheric Transport of Air Pollution:
Registration & Logistics

Arona, Italy: 6-8 June, 2011

Local Host and Meeting Location

The meeting will be hosted by the Institute for Environment and Sustainability at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre.  The meeting will take place at the Hotel Concorde, in Arona, Italy, near Ispra. 

Registration

To register for the meeting and to book hotels and local transportation, you much register online at https://jrc-meeting-registration.jrc.ec.europa.eu/ To guarantee hotel availability, registration must be completed before 05.05.2011.  After this date, we’ll try to help you on a case-by-case basis.

After creation of a userid and password, you’ll have access to the meeting registration page (follow Ispra-HTAP).

Note that IGBP is organizing a separate workshop that will take place in the same hotel on 9-10 June.  Participation in this workshop is by invitation only so as to keep the number of participants to a small number. Those who are also attending the IGBP workshop will have to register separately for that meeting.

Transport

The arrival and departure information provided through the registration page will be used for our taxi service to arrange your transport from and to the airport or train station. This service is for free. (If you are attending the IGBP meeting, please enter only arrival information.)

The preferable arrival and/or departure airport is called Milano Malpensa (MXP), also possible are Milano Linate (LIN). We also service several train stations- please note that it is possible to reach Arona by train from e.g. Geneva (CH), and Milano.

Hotel

Through the registration page, arrangements for sleeping rooms can be made at two hotels:

Hotel Concorde, Arona, costs are 99 Euro (single) including breakfast or 146 for a double.
Hotel Giardino, Arona, costs 76 Euro (single), 96 (Euro); this hotel has a limited capacity.

Visa Support

If needed JRC will provide a visa-support letter to be presented at an Italian embassy or consulate. Please contact Francesca.duca@ec.europa.eu. An early start is recommended, as the visa procedure may require time.
