Accomodations:

A room block has been reserved at the government rate of $91 per night (plus taxes, currently the combined tax is 13.75%).

To arrange accomodations, please call the Carolina Inn at 1-800-962-8519 and mention the EPA Meeting. Rooms may be assigned at the Carolina Inn or the nearby Rizzo Conference Center. Shuttle service will be available between the Rizzo and the Carolina Inn.

Please make your hotel reservations as early as possible. Each attendee will be responsible for any cancellation of their own room at least 3 days prior to arrival to avoid penalty (a charge for one night's stay.) Check-in time is 3:00 pm, check-out time is 12:00 pm.

Note for early arrivals: Because rooms at the Carolina Inn are not available on the night of 27 February at the conference rate, several participants are planning to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn near the RDU airport. Reservations can be made at www.hilton.com at a rate of $59.00 plus taxes. The Hilton offers free shuttle service to and from the airport. Taxis may be arranged for transferring to Chapel Hill on Sunday.

Visa Information:

During the conference registration process, you will be sent an invitation letter to use in applying for a visa or for any other purpose.
The registration system will send you a confirmation email with the invitation letter as an attachment.

Travel Information:

Airport

The nearest airport to the meeting is Raleigh-Durham International (RDU).
Transport from the airport to the hotel is available via the Super Shuttle.
A taxi from the airport to the hotel will cost approximately $40.

FROM I-40 WEST

(Coming from the East - RDU Airport, Raleigh, Wilmington)
  • Follow I-40 West to exit 273A, which takes you to Route 147 North (Durham Freeway)
  • Merge onto NC-54 W via exit 273A toward Chapel Hill
  • Stay straight to go onto Raleigh Rd/NC-54 BR W. Continue to follow Raleigh Rd/NC-54 BR W.
  • Turn slight right onto S. Columbia St.
  • Turn left onto W. Cameron Ave.
  • Turn left on Pittsboro St.

FROM I-85 NORTH

(Coming from the South – Charlotte, Atlanta)
  • Take I-85 North to I-40
  • Take I-40 E. toward Raleigh
  • Take the NC-86 exit, exit 266, toward Chapel Hill
  • Keep right at the fork to go on NC-86
  • Turn right onto W. Cameron Ave.
  • Turn left onto Pittsboro St.

If coming from Savannah, GA

Take I-95 N to I-40 W
  • Merge onto I-40 W via Exit 81 toward Raleigh
  • Merge onto NC-54 W via Exit 273A toward Chapel Hill
  • Stay straight onto Raleigh Rd.
  • Turn slight right onto S COLUMBIA ST.
  • Turn left onto W. Cameron Ave.
  • Turn left onto Pittsboro St.

FROM I-85 SOUTH

(Coming from the North - Virginia and Points North)
  • Take I-95 S to I-85 S
  • Take 1-85 S to US-15
  • Keep left to take US-15 S/US-15-501 S via exit 174B toward Chapel Hill
  • Take the exit toward UNC Chapel Hill
  • Turn onto Raleigh Rd./NC-54 BR W. Continue to follow Raleigh Rd/NC-54 BR W.
  • Turn slight right onto S. Columbia St./NC-86 N
  • Turn left onto W. Cameron Ave.
  • Turn left onto Pittsboro St.

If coming from Washington, DC

  • I-395 S becomes I-95 S
  • Merge onto I-85 S via Exit 51 to Durham
